Chapter 4

When Prince turned the knob and pushed open the double doors of the Gold Room, my eyes widened as I walked in. Mimi didn't lie when she said it was the best. Every single thing in this room shined gold except for the red accents here and there. I didn't need to see the other rooms to know that the Gold Room was the Rolls-Royce of any room I'd ever been in. The room had a silver and gold sheen to it courtesy of the gold decor and the moonlight from the silver moon outside. Lights outside Chateau Luxure provided just the right amount of extra light for us to see each other clearly. The first thing I noticed was the smell. It was sweet and intoxicating. The aroma wasn't from the chocolate covered strawberries on the gold platter near the bed or the uncorked champagne bottle chilling in the ice bucket. The scent was crisp, fresh, like air I'd never inhaled in my life.

In the middle of the room was a gold-plated king-sized canopy bed draped with sheer white curtains. Scattered on the handcrafted gold rug were rose petals dyed gold. Upholstered gold silk covered the walls while handmade gold lamps sat on the tops of two nightstands situated on each side of the bed. The spacious room had floor to ceiling windows that gave a panoramic view of the land around Chateau Luxure. In the distance, you could see specs of light from the New York skyline.

It was Prince's gentle touch on my lower back that pulled me out of my gawk.

"Everything all right?" he asked with a warm smile.

All I could muster up was, "wow." I dropped my purse on the antique gold chaise and walked over to the window to get a better look at the view. This place was blowing my mind the further in I got.

When I glanced over my shoulder and saw both Prince and Cassius standing there, staring back at me, my body got hot but I was still uncomfortable. I folded my arms tight in front of me and questioned my decision to go through with this. Even being here in this moment went against everything I stood for.

Prince must have taken notice of my nerves because he'd gone over to where the champagne was in the bucket, poured a glass then walked it over.

"Give me one minute," he said handing me the glass then walking back over to Cassius. I sipped then gulped the champagne, watching as they huddled in a corner of the room discussing something. They talked low, I couldn't make out what was being said.

Prince walked back over gently removed the glass from my hand and led me to the gold canopy bed. I watched as Cassius took a seat on a chair at the far end of the room.

The moment I sat down, the white silk bedsheets glided against my skin like butter. Prince got down on his knees and undid the straps of my Jimmy Choo's slipping them off one at a time.
